ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಫೆ.೧೨,೨೦೨೬ : ಸ್ವಸಹಾಯ ಸಂಘಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತರಬೇತಿ ಪಡೆದಿರುವ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರೇ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುವಂತಹ 2,500 ಕಾಫಿ ಕಿಯೋಸ್ಕ್ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಗೆ (ಅಕ್ಕ ಕೆಫೆ) ಸರಕಾರವು 25 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಮಂಜೂರು ಮಾಡಿದೆ.
ಇದರಿಂದ ಕಾಫಿ ಉದ್ಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೌಲ್ಯ ಸರಪಳಿಯ ಬಲವರ್ಧನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಬಲೀಕರಣ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಬೃಹತ್ ಮತ್ತು ಮಧ್ಯಮ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಸಚಿವ ಎಂ ಬಿ ಪಾಟೀಲ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸ್ಪೆಷಾಲಿಟಿ ಕಾಫಿ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ ಆಫ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ (ಎಸ್.ಸಿ.ಎ.ಐ) ಸಂಘಟನೆಯು ನಗರದ ಅರಮನೆ ಮೈದಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿರುವ ಭಾರತ ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಕಾಫಿ ಉತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಅವರು ಗುರುವಾರ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಕಾಫಿ ಬೋರ್ಡ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಜೀವನೋಪಾಯ ಮಿಷನ್-ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಜತೆ ಕೈಜೋಡಿಸಿ, ಸ್ವಸಹಾಯ ಸಂಘಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಕ್ರಿಯರಾಗಿರುವ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಒಂದು ಲಕ್ಷ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ಕಾಫಿ ಬ್ರೂಯಿಂಗ್, ಕೆಫೆ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಉದ್ಯಮಶೀಲತೆಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ತರಬೇತಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಸರಕಾರವು ಕೊಡಗು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಫಿ ತೋಟಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಪ್ಲಾಂಟೇಷನ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿವೇತನ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಉತ್ಸವದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಫಿ ಬೆಳೆಗಾರರು ತಮ್ಮ ಬೆಳೆಗಳನ್ನು ತಾವೇ ಬ್ರ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಮಾಡಿ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಮೆಚ್ಚಬೇಕಾದ ಸಂಗತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಇಲಾಖೆಯು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಕಾಫಿಗೆ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಮನ್ನಣೆ ತಂದುಕೊಡುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವಾಗಿ ಕೆಂಪೇಗೌಡ ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಾಲೋಕ ಮಳಿಗೆ ತೆರೆದಿದ್ದು, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶೇಷ ಪ್ಯಾಕಿಂಗ್ ಮತ್ತು ಬ್ರ್ಯಾಂಡಿಂಗ್ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಾಫಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದ 45ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜಿಐ ಮಾನ್ಯತೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರಾಟ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ನುಡಿದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ 2.2 ಲಕ್ಷ ಹೆಕ್ಟೇರ್ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಫಿ ಬೆಳೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆಯಲಾಗುವ ಒಟ್ಟು ಕಾಫಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶೇ.75ರಷ್ಟನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಹಾಸನ, ಕೊಡಗು ಮತ್ತು ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಗಳೂರು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲೇ ಬೆಳೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಬೆಳೆಗಾರರು, ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣೆಗಾರರು, ರಫ್ತುದಾರರು, ರೋಸ್ಟರ್ಸ್, ಕೆಫೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆತಿಥ್ಯೋದಮ ಸೇವೆ ಒದಗಿಸುವವರು, ಸಾಧನ ಸಲಕರಣೆಗಳ ತಯಾರಕರು, ವೃತ್ತಿಪರರು ಮತ್ತು ಗ್ರಾಹಕರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ಈ ಉತ್ಸವವು ಒಂದೆಡೆ ತಂದಿರುವುದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಉಪಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಇದೇ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಉತ್ಸವದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಹಲವು ಮಳಿಗೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ, ಕಾಫಿ ತಳಿ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಒಂದಿಷ್ಟನ್ನು ಖರೀದಿಸಿದರು.

Bengaluru: The State government has sanctioned ₹25 crore for setting up 2,500 coffee kiosks (Akka Cafe), which will be operated by women trained under Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The initiative is aimed at strengthening the coffee value chain and promoting economic empowerment through employment generation, said Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil on Thursday.
He was speaking after inaugurating the India International Coffee Festival organised by the Specialty Coffee Association of India (SCAI) at Palace Grounds in the city.
The Coffee Board, in collaboration with the National Rural Livelihood Mission–Karnataka, is providing training in coffee brewing, cafe management and entrepreneurship to one lakh women associated with Self-Help Groups across the State. The government is also extending scholarships to children of workers employed in coffee estates and large plantations in Kodagu district, he added.
It is encouraging that coffee growers themselves are branding their produce and showcasing it at the festival, he said. At the ‘Kala Loka’ outlet set up by the Industries Department at Kempegowda International Airport, coffee is being showcased and sold alongside more than 45 other GI-tagged products from the State, with distinctive packaging and branding, he noted.
Coffee is cultivated over 2.2 lakh hectares in Karnataka, making the State the largest producer in the country. Nearly 75 per cent of India’s total coffee production comes from the districts of Hassan, Kodagu and Chikkamagaluru. The festival has brought together growers, processors, exporters, roasters, café and hospitality service providers, equipment manufacturers, professionals and consumers under one roof — a commendable initiative, Patil observed.
On the occasion, the Minister visited several stalls at the festival, interacted with exhibitors, evinced keen interest in various coffee varieties and purchased some products.
