ಮೈಸೂರು,ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್,9,2026 (www.justkannada.in): ಯುನೆಸ್ಕೊದ ದಿ ವರ್ಲ್ಡ್ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿ ಆಫ್ ಸೈನ್ಸ್ (The World Academy of Sciences) ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಫೆಲೋ , ಹೆಸರಾಂತ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿ ಪ್ರೊ. ಕೆ.ಎಸ್. ರಂಗಪ್ಪ ಅವರು, “ಏಷ್ಯಾ-ಆಫ್ರಿಕಾ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಗುರಿಗಳ ಸಾಧನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏಕೀಕೃತ ಓಮಿಕ್ಸ್ ನೆಟ್ವರ್ಕ್ನ ಪಾತ್ರ” ಕುರಿತ ಪ್ಯಾನೆಲ್ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿತರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಇಥಿಯೋಪಿಯಾದ ಅಡಿಸ್ ಅಬಾಬಾ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ಇನೋವೇಷನ್ ಅಂಡ್ ಟೆಕ್ನಾಲಜಿ (Innovation and Technology) ಸಚಿವಾಲಯ, ಬಯೋ ಅಂಡ್ ಎಮರ್ಜಿಂಗ್ ಟೆಕ್ನಾಲಜಿ (Bio and Emerging Technology) ಹಾಗೂ ಸಿಡಿಟಿ ಆಫ್ರಿಕಾ (CDT-Africa) ಸಂಯುಕ್ತವಾಗಿ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿತ್ತು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರೊ. ರಂಗಪ್ಪ ಅವರು, “ಏಕೀಕೃತ ಓಮಿಕ್ಸ್ ನೆಟ್ ವರ್ಕ್ ಗಳು ಕೇವಲ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಸೀಮಿತವಲ್ಲ; ಅವು ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಸೇತುವೆ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಸಮಾನತೆ ಸಾಧಿಸಿ, ಏಷ್ಯಾ ಮತ್ತು ಆಫ್ರಿಕಾ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳ ವಿಶೇಷ ಸವಾಲುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೊಂದುವ ಪರಿಹಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಅನಾವರಣಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಅನುಷ್ಠಾನಗೊಳಿಸಿದರೆ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಯನ್ನು ತರಬಲ್ಲವು” ಎಂದು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
ಈ ಪ್ಯಾನೆಲ್ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿತರಾಗಿ ಪ್ರೊ. ಸಿದ್ದಬಸವೇಗೌಡ (ಜಪಾನ್), Innovation and Technology ಸಚಿವಾಲಯದ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳು (ಆಫ್ರಿಕಾ), ಪ್ರೊ. ಹ್ಯಾಬೋಟ್ಮ್ ರೆಸ್ಸೋಮ್, GTU (ಅಮೆರಿಕಾ), ಡಾ. ಸ್ಯಾಮುಯೆಲ್ ಕಿಫ್ಲೆ, ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು, AAU, ಡಾ. ಮೊಲಾಲೆಗ್ನ್, BETin, ಪ್ರೊ. ಎಚ್. ಹಿನೋ (ಜಪಾನ್) ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾಗಿ ಪ್ರೊ. ಸೊಲೊಮನ್, ಅಡಿಸ್ ಅಬಾಬಾ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ (ಇಥಿಯೋಪಿಯಾ) ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಚರ್ಚೆ ಏಷ್ಯಾ-ಆಫ್ರಿಕಾ ಸಹಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವ ಮಹತ್ವದ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಾಗಲಿದೆ.

Prof. K. S. Rangappa, Fellow of UNESCO’s The World Academy of Sciences and a renowned scientist, was invited to participate in a panel discussion on “The Role of Integrated Omics Networks in Achieving Asia–Africa Research Goals.”
The event was recently organized at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, jointly by the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, Bio and Emerging Technology, and CDT-Africa.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Rangappa said, “Integrated omics networks are not limited to technology alone; they build bridges of connectivity, promote equity, and help uncover solutions tailored to the unique challenges of Asia and Africa. If implemented effectively, they can bring significant transformation to the global scientific landscape.”
Other distinguished panelists included Prof. Siddabasavegowda (Japan), representatives from the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (Africa), Prof. Habtom Ressom (GTU, USA), Dr. Samuel Kifle (President, AAU), Dr. Molalegn (BETin), and Prof. H. Hino (Japan).
The session was moderated by Prof. Solomon from Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia).
The discussion is expected to serve as an important platform to further strengthen Asia–Africa collaboration.
